playing catch up

did you know i have a long list of things to do but somehow right now, this seems more important. the other night i was laying on my bed with my boys gathered round me and we read all of our blog entries. each of their faces lit up when it was about them. that means more than doing the laundry. i have neglected this little blog and after i saw their faces i realized that it really is important to them so i am going to try to catch up on a few events over the last few months.

for spring break this year we had a staycation. we had so much fun! it was great to just be together and play. we slept in, ate yummy food and laughed a lot. we had passports and each night our adventure took us to a different land. we visited hawaii, italy, mexico. these little men appreciate and make "adventures" like this so fun. if they wished they were at disneyland, they sure never let on.

birthday boy!!

i know i have told you how fun this little boy is but let me tell you again. on may 20th this little tyke turned 2. we all love him so much that his brothers begged to stay home from school and i gave in. we partied all day for our baby! for lunch we met gary and carla at chipotle. max loves to eat here. he gets a huge bowl of rice and eats it all up and you should hear him say chipotle! in the evening we celebrated at home with dinner and blue cake(his only request)! at 2 max is adventurous and sweet and so darn smart. he speaks really well and people always comment on that. you are beautiful little one and we are so so thankful for you!

sorry so long

hi there friends and family. it has been a long time and i am so sorry. i am really gonna try to update more often i just need to figure out a few things on the computer. AARRGH! why am i so illiterate?

can i tell you how happy he makes me?

last night was one of my favorite moments of being a mom. don't get me wrong-great things happen everyday that make me happy and so thankful to have these 3 boys but last night ranked up there really high. kevin and i have had to divide up for baseball this season because he is coaching jack's tee ball team, so he always goes with jack and since their games are often at the same time i always go with tag. while playing second, tag made a great play and tagged a guy out that looked miraculous to his mother who really hates the thoughts of balls flying at me, especially with the intent of catching and moving quickly soon after. (he didn't get his talent in the area from me:)) he also pitched an inning and struck 3 hitters out, allowing no runs in. and while those were great, here was what really made my night. first up to bat, my little hitter hit the first ball out far enough to score a HOME RUN! it was amazing!! I was screaming and yelling so loud because i was so excited for him and guess what? as soon as he came off the field, everyone was trying to congratulate him and he came right to me! It made my heart so, so, so happy! thank you tag for still thinking i'm important!

my other boy!

Lots of people have asked me about my blogspot called Carrie and boys- they question how I included Kevin in that and I quickly have responded that he is one of my boys too. I have been so blessed to have 3 sons with this guy but he is my first and foremost boy!!

We have been together for a long time and I am thankful for him every single day! He has and is becoming exactly who His Heavenly Father wants him to be. He provides for our family and would do anything to help us have our needs met.  He is a great Dad! Our boys love him and are learning so much from him. He recently got a calling at church that requires him being away from us and man, do I realize all he does, especially when he is gone. I am so thankful he is willing to serve and does it with a really big heart! He loves me- I sure do know that, because he shows me! He doesn't tell me with flowers or jewelry but he tells me by speaking kind to me and cleaning my bathroom, if needed ;) I'll take that anyday! He is my best friend and listens to me whenever I need him to, sometimes even when I am not talking.
Thanks to heaven for seeing what I needed before I new what I needed!

MAY 21

So when you live at 9,500 ft. this is what you wake up to on May 21! Can you believe it? I know I should not complain given the situation all over the country but I just had to let you know. This is my beautiful backyard.

thirty-six

So yesterday was my birthday. I woke up to all of my boys singing happy birthday and bringing me breakfast in bed. They are amazing little people and I am sure their big Dad had a lot to do with it too. I had a great day running errands and spending birthday money from Dad and Mom. Finished it all off with a chili cheese dog and ice cream with best friends and took my second hot bath of the day. It was perfect! I am so happy! Yes, my hands are looking older and I have wrinkles and pimples(which just doesn't seem right) and I can't really suck in my stomach any more but I am happy! I am healthy and I have the best little boys ever. My husband takes good care of me and loves be despite all the for-mentioned things and so I am really grateful to be right where I am right now. Here's to another year of luckiness or maybe it's just called blessings!!

worst blogger

i am the worst blogger in the history of bloggers. i hate my computer. i do know what i am doing. i have just spent 3 hours trying to change how the blog looks and my computer still shows the old, so if it is all messed up you will know why. please help me!!!

super star....

 Here he is! This guy is the 3rd place winner of the optimist b-ball challenge for the states of Wyoming and Colorado! Go Tag! It all started a little over a month ago here is Frisco where he took 1st place. We were excited but knew that the next stage in Denver would be a bit harder so we didn't have our hopes up too high. Just a couple weeks later we headed to Lutheren High School in Denver and hit it again. Tag took 2nd there! He was hilarious. After he got done competing, when we were waiting for the results- he suddenly got nervous. Thinking that the top 3 got to go to the Pepsi Center and compete before a Nuggets game was too exciting. I love that he really wasn't nervous before he did his skills, but after. He is great! His buddy Andrew took 3rd so they we thrilled!

Cut to Saturday March 12th. Tag and a cheering section of about 10 more headed to the Pepsi Center to do it all again. They had to make straight passes, bounce passes, dribble through poles while being timed and then shoot 6 free throws. Wow! There were 144 kids that made it there and lots of parents and friends so it was a little intimidating but really cool. Tag and Andrew did great and Tag got one more pass than Andrew did, putting him in 3rd place. Holy Cow! We were so shocked and excited and Andrew was a great support for his friend. As a Mom, I cannot believe how nervous I get. I need to set this straight though. I get nervous because I want him to do the very best he can- if that isn't 1st or even placing then that's great. I just want him to feel good about his performance-wherever he places. But 3rd sure was fun.This contest started out with 2,000 kids so to make the top 36 is AMAZING! He got to be right on the court to high 5 the Nuggets as they came on to play. He got an awesome t-shirt and trophy! I love him so much! This is a memory I hope we never forget. Good family and friends and so much fun. Go my lil' jimmer!!!

Happy Birthday to my amazing Mom! She is the perfect example of a wife, mother, leader! She is truely a role model and I hope to be more like her someday. She has so much love in her heart and works hard to take care of our family. I love to be with her. I wish I could be with her more. Happy Day Mama!

Here's the baby I thought I wanted but had no idea how much I needed. This man helps complete our family! He came on May 20, 2009 and is the sweetest little thing you can imagine. His spirit has completely filled our home. He has helped make us all kinder, gentler and more patient. He brings love like you can't imagine!

Everything is an adventure for this kid. I know that kinda comes with the age but he really takes it to heart. He is smart and watches everything going on around him. He has some big shoes to fill following his brothers and it never ceases to amaze me that they each fill their own shoes just perfectly. How thankful I am for that! I cannot wait to watch him grow. Tag and Jack are the best big brothers ever-if you've been around them, then you can testify to this, but I gotta tell you- this kid makes it all fun!

My Second Son. First of all, you should know that this little boy makes me happy every single day. He makes me laugh, he makes me cry, he makes me proud that he chose me to be his Momma. The reason it has taken me so long to get my next post done is that I want to say this right and I hope you understand. When I thought I kinda had parenting figured out a little, Heavenly Father sent this guy. Little did I know. He is full of life and vim and vigor. He can be so sweet and then so feisty and through his 6 short years I have learned and will continue to learn why. Once when Jack was about 2, I prayed and prayed. Why is this boy so crazy and so strong and my answer came as clear as anything. "He needs to be."  He is big and strong and I know he will rise to face any challenge set before him.

Jack has the best heart. He is a defender of anyone who needs defending and makes it known loudly. He loves with all he has and can fight with the best of them. He doesn't like you to be mad but, being mad at him just makes him madder. Does that make sense? I know he will command attention. I know he will lead. I know he is amazing. He is so smart and understands everything going on. He tells me so often that I am beautiful and that makes me feel like a queen.
Jack, hold true to what you know is right and lead away my little boy. I love everything about you!

Tag Man

This is my firstborn. The one who gets most of my experimenting as a mother. This guy is amazing! The Mom of a very dear friend said to me-"Tag has an old soul." This is so true. I am sure when we get to heaven we will find that he is much more "mature" than either of his parents. He is smart and true and honest. He wants to please people and has a very calm nature. He knows the gospel and surprises me constantly with this knowledge. One of his favorite prophets is Captain Moroni and Tag has many of his qualities. He is big and strong. He is a leader for right and people watch and follow Tag.

This year we have watched him play baseball, football and wrestle and he is amazing. It is so fun to be the Mom and get to watch him excel at anything he tries. He is very dedicated and when he commits to something, he commits with his whole heart and body! We have watched as people in the community have been impressed with his abilities as well as his demeanor and we could not be prouder.

Hello and Welcome to our blog! This was at the top of my new years resolution list and what is it, the 5th? Pretty good for me! Mostly I wanted to start this blog so my family living far away can be a part of my boys everyday life, but beware- it isn't always pretty! I named it this because I feel like I am the luckiest Mom in the whole world because I got these 3 boys, but first I got their amazing Dad! Happy New Year!
